A Chattanooga park ranger who was fired claims he lost his job because of his dancing.
Deryl Nelson, 50, who worked in Coolidge Park on the Tennessee Riverwalk, says the dancing is something he's done for years to bring joy to visitors. He was let go after a park visitor posted a video of him on Facebook.
The Chattanooga Department of Public Works says that "conduct unbecoming of a city employee" was only one of several factors led to the termination. Nelson had been suspended twice, once for a crash that happened on the job, and last year for making inappropriate remarks to a co-worker. But last year he won an award from the police department for helping save a woman's life at the park.
