FRIDAY, NOV. 16 ROBBERY -- A man walked up behind a female pedestrian near Richmond Street and Waldo Avenue and grabbed her bag off her shoulder. The victim chased the assailant, who managed to get away. ROBBERY -- A man came up behind a woman who was walking to her car near Junction and Knott avenues and grabbed her face. The suspect grabbed her purse and fled the area. The victim was treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries. THEFT FROM RESIDENCE -- A home was burglarized in the 5800 block of El Dorado Street. POSSESSION -- Police recovered a suspected baggie of methamphetamine after a making a suspicious vehicle check in the 10600 block of San Pablo Avenue. The Richmond motorist, 50, who also had an outstanding warrant, was booked and taken to county jail. RECOVERED AUTO -- A stolen Honda was spotted near South 52nd Street and Victor Avenue. The driver sped away, running through several stop signs. The vehicle later was recovered unoccupied nearby.
SATURDAY, NOV. 17 THEFT FROM RESIDENCE -- A home was burglarized in the 8400 block of Wildcat Drive. STOLEN AUTO -- Police arrested a man, 19, for reported possession of a stolen 2012 Toyota Tundra and an outstanding warrant. RECOVERED AUTO -- Police recovered a 2009 Kia in the 2000 block of Key Boulevard that was stolen during a recent carjacking incident in Richmond. An unoccupied stolen Honda Accord was recovered near Hagen Boulevard and Morris Avenue after police had spotted the car near Key Boulevard and Knott Avenue, but the driver at that time had managed to evade the officer.
SUNDAY, NOV. 18 POSSESSION -- Police arrested an Oakland man, 20, after they were dispatched to Jack in the Box to respond to a physical altercation between the suspect and a woman. The suspect, who was located nearby, was reportedly found in possession of marijuana for sale and was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility. DUI -- Two motorists were arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of alcohol, including a San Francisco resident, 42, at Interstate 80 at Carlson Boulevard and an Albany resident, 17, in El Cerrito Plaza.
MONDAY, NOV. 19 ATTEMPTED BURGLARY -- Someone was unsuccessful in an attempt to burglarize a home in the 700 block of Novell Street. Police responded to an alarm and found someone had kicked in the back door, had removed the screen from a window and moved a patio chair to try and gain entry. Nothing was taken. COMMERCIAL CRIME -- Someone broke the front window of Jay Vee Liquor and stole approximately four-dozen cartons of cigarettes. At the Plaza BART station, police arrested a man and a woman after they were seen stealing merchandise from the Lucky store in El Cerrito Plaza. THEFT FROM AUTO -- Someone stole a portion of the dashboard and car stereo equipment in a Honda Odyssey parked in the 900 block of Liberty Street. VANDALISM -- A man with outstanding warrants was arrested after he was seen tagging the wall of a building in the 3400 block of Belmont Avenue.
TUESDAY, NOV. 20 THEFT FROM AUTO -- Someone broke a window on a Lexus parked near Knott and San Pablo avenues and stole a bag of assorted clothing. In another incident, someone broke a rear window on a Toyota Sienna that was parked in front of Marshall's in the 10700 block of San Pablo Avenue and stole personal items. COLLISION -- At 6:30 p.m., police responded to a call that a motorist had struck a pedestrian who was not in the crosswalk near the intersection of El Dorado Street and San Pablo Avenue. The victim was treated at a local medical center for injuries, which included a broken arm, scrapes and bruises.
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 21 STOLEN AUTO -- Vehicles were stolen in the following locations: an unlocked Nissan 240 SX with the keys in the ignition in the 3100 block of Carlson Boulevard; and a Honda Civic in front of the victim's home in the 5900 block of Jordan Avenue. Police recovered a stolen Acura Integra near Barrett Avenue and Mount Street, and a 1994 Acura Integra in the 11400 block of San Pablo Avenue. THEFT FROM AUTO -- Items were stolen from two vehicles in the 11600 block of San Pablo Avenue, including clothing seized from a Honda Civic after the culprit broke a rear window, and a GPS device taken from a Lincoln Navigator entered by breaking the front passenger window. The driver's door window of a 2000 Toyota Camry in the Safeway lot in the 11450 block of San Pablo Avenue was shattered and two backpacks were stolen. DUI -- Police arrested an Oakland man, 47, after a traffic stop for excessive speed in the 10300 block of San Pablo Avenue on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
THURSDAY, NOV. 22 STOLEN AUTO -- A man saw someone drive off in his 1995 Honda Civic that he had left unlocked with the ignition key in plain view in the 7200 block of Stockton Avenue. And, someone stole a 1991 Honda Civic that was parked in the 1200 block of Liberty Street. FRAUD -- An El Cerrito woman, 25, was booked and released after police had pulled her over in the 11800 block of San Pablo Avenue and discovered she was driving with a suspended license, was on probation for fraud and was in possession of 25 fraudulent credit cards.
