Ben Affleck has announced that he won't be running for Senate, according to the Huffington Post.

"I love Massachusetts and our political process, but I am not running for office," he said. He vowed to continue his work with the Eastern Congo Initiative and with fighting hunger in the United States.

The "Argo" director and star was rumored to be considering running to replace John Kerry in the senate. President Obama has nominated Kerry to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.

"We are about to get a great Secretary of State and there are some phenomenal candidates in Massachusetts for his Senate seat," Affleck said. "I look forward to an amazing campaign."

Other potential candidates that have been named are soon-to-be former Senator Scott Brown and several members of the Massachusetts congressional delegation.
