The Academy Awards aren't about music. We get it: music had its own big night in February and the Oscars is about the actors and directors -- not Adele getting another new statue to cram next to all of others.

It makes sense, too, that music gets ignored on Oscar night because the nominees and winners tend to be, well, pretty lame songs.

But even though the Oscars may not have the best track record for music, the fact remains that some of our most iconic pop songs have come from movies. Here is a playlist of our favorite, or at least most memorable, winners in the Best Original Song category.
