Hercules seeks public comment on an update to the housing element of its General Plan.

An initial study finds the project will not have significant environmental effects.

The study and an accompanying negative declaration of environmental impact are available for review at Hercules City Hall and the Hercules Library. There also is a link to the study on the home page of the city website, www.ci.hercules.ca.us/.

The deadline for public comments on the proposed environmental document is 4 p.m. May 28. Written comments can be mailed to City of Hercules Planning Department, 111 Civic Drive, Hercules, CA 94547, Attn: Robert Reber, Planning Manager, or emailed to rreber@ci.hercules.ca.us.

The Hercules Planning Commission expects to hold hearings June 3 on the proposed negative declaration, updated housing element, and associated zoning ordinance amendments.
