FRIDAY, MAY 31

  • ATTEMPTED BURGLARY -- At 10:25 a.m., two males described as juveniles were seen running from a home to a gold Nissan Altima in the 5700 block of Fern Street after reportedly trying to kick in a front door of a home in that area. The homeowner had scared them off before their making entry.

  • DUI -- An El Cerrito man, 36, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after his vehicle collided with a tree in the 6500 block of Fairmount Avenue

  • ROBBERY -- Just after 9:58 a.m., police arrested a Richmond man, 44, for suspected robbery after a brief foot pursuit near Cutting Boulevard and San Pablo Avenue. The suspect was reportedly seen stealing an estimated $200 worth of alcohol by loss prevention employees at Safeway, 11450 San Pablo Ave. He threatened that he had a gun and fled the store.

  • THEFT FROM AUTO -- At 4 p.m., a window was broken on a vehicle near Barnes & Noble at El Cerrito Plaza to steal a backpack, containing an estimated $300 worth of personal belongings.

    SATURDAY, JUNE 1

  • DUI -- An Oakland man, 33, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic enforcement stop at Carlson Boulevard and San Diego Street.

  • POSSESSION -- Police arrested a Richmond man, 35, for possession of a controlled substance following a pedestrian stop at Moeser Lane and San Pablo Avenue.

  • STOLEN AUTO -- Hondas were stolen in the 6600 block of Central Avenue and the 5900 block of Fern Street.

  • THEFT FROM RESIDENCE -- A laptop and jewelry were stolen from a residence in the 1200 block of Cabrillo Street that was entered via an open kitchen window.

    SUNDAY, JUNE 2

  • POSSESSION -- Police arrested a San Rafael man, 46, for possession of a suspected controlled substance following a pedestrian stop near Blake and Everett Street.

  • STOLEN AUTO -- The K-9 unit apprehended a man suspected in a stolen vehicle case out of Alameda County after a foot chase that ended with the dog, Koda, pulling him from a fence near South 39th Street and Wall Avenue. Just prior, police had located an occupied Ford Explorer at Key Boulevard and Nevin Avenue. The suspect fled from the vehicle and the chase commenced.

    MONDAY, JUNE 3

  • BRANDISHING -- At 9:10 p.m., police arrested a Newark man, 47, for brandishing a knife at an officer and resisting arrest after officers responded to a call that he was inside Jack in the Box, 5920 Cutting Boulevard, smoking and drinking beer. He pulled out the knife and pointed it at officers when he was asked to leave. The officer deployed his Taser, ordering the suspect to drop his weapon. He refused and police used the Taser a second time, disarming and handcuffing the suspect.

  • BURGLARY -- Three men clad in safety vests, who were found sitting in a suspicious vehicle on Leneve Place, were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit residential burglary in the area. Police had received several reports of people knocking on doors and asking for directions. The suspects were found in possession of latex gloves, hard hats and pry tools.

  • COMMERCIAL CRIME -- Just before 7 p.m., someone entered Jo-Ann Fabrics at 300 El Cerrito Plaza, and forced open an unattended cash register. It was not disclosed as to whether money was stolen. Someone pried open the front door of a business in the 10900 block of San Pablo Avenue and stole a bowl of checks.

  • GRAND THEFT -- At 4 p.m., two women drove up alongside a female pedestrian and asked for directions to the Richmond BART station. One of the suspects snatched the victim's iPhone as she was looking up the information and the pair drove off.

    TUESDAY, JUNE 4

  • THEFT -- At 9:25 a.m., a Richmond man, 52, was arrested for reportedly stealing alcohol at Safeway. The suspect also was cited for trespassing after prior instances when he had been asked to exit the store. A Richmond man, 40, with many prior related convictions, was arrested for stealing merchandise from Lucky at El Cerrito Plaza.

  • THEFT FROM AUTO -- Two vehicles were burgled near Trader Joe's, 225 El Cerrito Plaza.

    WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5

  • ROBBERY -- At 5:05 p.m., a man swiped a cell phone from the victim's hand, causing minor cuts, near Jefferson and San Pablo avenues.

  • STOLEN AUTO -- A 2000 Honda Civic was stolen from the 7700 block of Stockton Street.

  • THEFT FROM AUTO -- Someone broke a passenger window of vehicle near Macaroni Grill at El Cerrito Plaza and stole a computer bag and miscellaneous items.

    THURSDAY, JUNE 6

  • BURGLARY -- Two Oakland men, both 20, were arrested for conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of burglary tools and stolen property, after police spotted their vehicle in the vicinity of the 1700 block of Wesley Avenue. Earlier, they had been spotted trying to enter the backyard of a home in the area, but were scared off by a witness who was able to record the license plate and provide officers with a good physical description. The confiscated stolen property was from a prior residential burglary in the 1400 block of Norvell Street.

  • SHOPLIFTING -- Police arrested an Antioch man, 36, for outstanding warrants and stealing merchandise from Safeway. His female accomplice, 23, from San Francisco, was cited and released.

  • STOLEN AUTO -- A 2006 orange Wanco trailer was stolen in the 5800 block of Cutting Boulevard. A 1997 Toyota RAV 4 was stolen in the 2600 block of Mira Vista Drive.

  • THEFT -- At 7:24 a.m., an El Sobrante man, 33, was seen taking merchandise into the store bathroom without paying for them at Safeway. He was arrested for suspected theft and possession of drug paraphernalia by police as he was brushing his teeth with a toothbrush he had taken.
