RICHMOND -- Seven of the city's churches are joining forces to host the first Richmond Faith and Community Health Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 684 Juliga Woods St.
The free event will include informational booths, health screenings, vendor booths, live entertainment, food, prizes, games, a bounce house and activities for all ages.
Among the entertainers will be Janet Maxie-Reid and the Working On It Band, Richmond Class Act Line Dancers.
Host churches are Bethlehem Missionary Baptist, Parchester First Baptist, St. Luke Missionary Baptist, Tabernacle of Praise Apostolic, Easter Hill United Methodist, Sojourner Truth Presbyterian, and All Nations COGIC, which will have booths with literature and a Prayer Closet.
Participating organizations include Kaiser Permanente, Doctors Medical Center, Lifelong Medical, Black Nurses Association, the Ronald McDonald Dental Van, the California Highway Patrol, the city's Health and Wellness Office and Network for a Healthy California.
