PINOLE -- If a second BART strike becomes reality, the Western Contra Costa Transit Authority (WestCAT) plans to add more transbay bus service to San Francisco, the agency announced Thursday.
WestCAT would also add two additional evening trips from Hercules to Martinez on its 30Z Martinez Link route for commuters trying to connect with County Connection, Tri-Delta Transit and Capital Corridor.
The agency will not operate its JX line but all of the trips on its JPX line from Hercules/Pinole will go into San Francisco after stopping first on Kearney Street near the El Cerrito del Norte BART station.
The last trip out of San Francisco will be at about 8 p.m., as will the last 30Z bus leaving Hercules for Martinez.
"If a strike should happen on Monday, staff will begin arriving early in the morning at key locations from Hercules to San Francisco to assist displaced commuters, provide directions or reassurances to those who might be unfamiliar with bus operations," WestCAT announced.
The WestCAT sales office is open 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 601 Walter Ave. in Pinole.
