EL SOBRANTE -- The county and local organizations are sponsoring the 10th annual Cleanup Day from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Boys & Girls Club of El Sobrante, 4660 Appian Way.

The event is rain or shine and is first come, first served, ending when bins are full.

Participants must show proof of residency (California driver's license, property tax bill, or PG&E monthly statement) in El Sobrante, must unload their own items, and are allowed one car or small pickup load per household.

Commercial and food waste will not be accepted, nor will tires, hazardous waste (paint, adhesives, batteries, solvents, aerosol, photo chemicals, antifreeze, fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, poisons, asbestos, etc.), or pharmaceuticals.

The event is sponsored by county Supervisor John Gioia, the El Sobrante Municipal Advisory Council, El Sobrante Chamber of Commerce, Boys & Girls Club of El Sobrante, Richmond Sanitary Services, Sims Metal, Keystone Club, DGH Outfitters and Café Soleil.
