SAN PABLO -- The West Contra Costa Health Fair is a free family event that will offer health and safety tips and children's activities on Saturday.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the San Pablo Towne Center shopping center, on the north side of San Pablo Dam Road west of Interstate 80 in San Pablo.

The event will feature emergency vehicles, CPR training and practice, an emergency preparedness presentation, free health screenings by Doctors Medical Center and reduced-price services of the Contra Costa County Animal Services Department.

Children's activities, sponsored by Richmond and San Pablo, will include face painting, a zumba session and a jumper.

Students attending public schools in West Contra Costa can help their school win emergency supplies by attending the event and checking in at the registration table. The top three schools with the highest student attendance will win.

Sponsors include Chevron, public agencies and nonprofits.
