RICHMOND -- A man found in a car pulled from the Santa Fe Channel last week was identified Tuesday as a 43-year-old Richmond man, authorities said.

Kyle Weston Miller was discovered Nov. 21 inside a 1989 Mercedes-Benz, in the water near 800 Wharf St., according to police. Someone called 911 to report the car bobbing in the water about 8:15 a.m. Authorities found it floating upside down, submerged in about 15 feet of water.

Police said it appears the Mercedes hit a 2-foot concrete barrier before tipping into the water. Neither foul play nor suicide was suspected.

Neighbors have said Miller was a dog owner who owned two or three boats and lived at Sugar Dock in Point Richmond.
