PITTSBURG -- Police are looking for a suspect who shot and wounded a 25-year-old Pittsburg man shortly before noon Thursday.
The victim was walking on Diane Avenue when the suspect confronted him about 11:55 a.m., said Pittsburg police Lt. Ron Raman. The suspect fired, hitting the victim twice, and fled the scene, Raman said.
The victim was transported to a hospital and was expected to recover. Police are looking for the suspect and have contacted witnesses, Raman said.
Diane Avenue is just north of Highway 4, about 2,000 feet west of the Loveridge Road interchange.
Raman said Thursday afternoon it was not known what caused the suspect to confront the victim. No other information was available.
Raman asks anyone with information to call the Pittsburg Police Department tip line at 925-427-7369.
