CROCKETT -- The John Swett school district board will hold a public presentation Feb. 26 on a study assessing the relative merits of a seismic retrofitting or replacement of Carquinez Middle School.

The study, released in October, found that the 90-year-old structure could be unsafe in the event of a major earthquake.

A special bond issue would be required to repair or replace the school.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the middle school gymnasium, 1099 Pomona Ave.

The district also operates John Swett High School and Willow Continuation School in Crockett and Rodeo Hills Elementary School in Rodeo.
