PINOLE -- Students and teachers from Fiat Music will perform from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at a benefit concert to support a 10-year-old girl diagnosed with a form of acute leukemia.
A donation will be asked at the door for the concert at Pinole Valley Community Church, 2885 Pinole Valley Road.
Naomi "Nomi" Solwren was diagnosed with a rare form of acute lymphoblastic leukemia in early January, and has been out of her classes at Wagner Ranch Elementary School while she undergoes treatment, said her mother, Deena Solwren.
The family lives in El Sobrante and Deena Solwren quit her job to care for Naomi.
Her father, Daniel Solwren, is an eighth grade science teacher at Pinole Middle School.
