RICHMOND -- A 25-year-old man was shot multiple times Monday evening in the Iron Triangle, police said.
The Oakland man was struck several times in the chest at about 6 p.m. on the 400 block of Bissell Avenue, said Sgt. Nicole Abetkov. He was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he underwent surgery Monday night, Abetkov said.
He is expected to survive.
All available police units were called to the neighborhood to help control what Abetkov described as an aggressive and unruly crowd that refused to cooperate with detectives. No arrests have been made.
