NORTH RICHMOND -- A vacant North Richmond home that previously caught fire went up in smoke again early Monday, authorities said.
Fire crews responding to a report of a fire about 3 a.m. found heavy smoke pouring from a boarded-up home in the 400 block of Market Ave., said Contra Costa Fire Protection District Capt. George Laing.
The fire was extinguished about a half-hour later, Laing said. No one was inside, but authorities found evidence that homeless people were using the house. No one was injured.
About 20 firefighters from county fire and the Richmond Fire Department responded to the fire.
