Bing Crosby's Restaurant, one of downtown Walnut Creek's most prominent hot spots in the past few years, has closed down.

New Year's Eve was apparently the last night for the restaurant that honored one of the nation's most famous crooners.

The piano bar and upscale eatery was known for its tall-deep booths and "country club-plush" decor, as described by owners of the 280-seat restaurant when it opened in 2004.

Bing's is owned by Dudum Sports and Entertainment, which also owns McCovey's Restaurant and Maria, Maria. The themed-restaraunt group closed down its Joe DiMaggio's in San Francisco in October.

According to news outlets in Southern California, the Bing's in Rancho Mirage closed in June after tax liens were placed on the business.

The Dudums could not be reached Monday for comment for this story. Check back with ContraCostaTimes.com for updates.
